Artistic creation towards the heritage bank of contemporary Buddhist art

The Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha launched the art creation campaign 'Creating religion in life' towards forming a contemporary Buddhist art heritage bank.

On the afternoon of October 11, the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha officially launched the Buddhist art creation campaign "Creating religion in life" in 2025.

Nurturing a generation of artists and intellectuals attached to Buddhism

Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac, head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said the formation of the contemporary Buddhist art heritage bank is to use the power of art forms to spread Buddhism into life, the light of religion is present in every breath of life, contributing to "enlightening religion in life", nurturing the soul towards goodness.

The movement also aims to stimulate community creativity, nurture a generation of artists and intellectuals attached to Buddhism, and at the same time connect inter-sectoral and inter-generational, joining hands to build a contemporary Vietnamese Buddhist cultural heritage alongside national culture.

Venerable Thich Tho Lac emphasized that the profound goal of the program is to shape the Buddhist cultural lifestyle in society, creating a community that knows how to live in harmony, love, gratitude and strive for enlightenment, liberation and wisdom.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien, on behalf of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, affirmed that this movement is not only a creative movement, but also a cultural practice, a path of propagating Dharma through art.

Along with launching the Buddhist art creation campaign "Creating religion in life" in 2025, the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha signed a cooperation agreement between the committee and six central cultural and artistic associations.

Including: Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Vietnam Writers Association, Vietnam Musicians Association, Vietnam Stage Artists Association, Vietnam Architects Association, Vietnam Folk Arts Association and Institute of Ethnology and Religion.
