On the afternoon of April 17, Thanh Hoa City Police said that after receiving information from people about a group of subjects producing and trading fake functional foods and counterfeiting functional products, the City Police searched 10 locations where the suspects lived, worked, produced, and hid their goods in Hanoi .
Here, the police seized many fake functional food products, including more than 4,000 boxes of finished Vu Hoang Thanh Tam An Cung Hoan (a box of 10 fake pills branded by Kwangdong Company, produced in Korea, exported to Vietnam).

The raw materials for manufacturing and packaging the counterfeit products include 7 plastic bottle covers, plastic bottle caps used to hold An Cung Hoan pills; more than 1,000 Kwangdong brand anti-counterfeit stamps, Kwangdong brand instruction stamps; over 1,000 kg of yellow round tablets wrapped in yellow paper and many tools and machines for packaging the products such as presses, glue guns, staples, and adhesive tape.
On April 17, the Thanh Hoa City Police Investigation Agency initiated a case, prosecuted and temporarily detained eight suspects for the crime of "producing and trading in counterfeit food products".
The defendants who have just been detained include Nguyen Thi Thinh (46 years old, residing in My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem district), Nguyen Lan Huong (40 years old, residing in La Khe ward, Ha Dong district), Tran Anh Cuong (30 years old, residing in Trung Van ward, Nam Tu Liem district), Ngo Thi Tu (42 years old, residing in Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district), Nong Quang Hai (33 years old, residing in My Dinh 1 ward, Nam Tu Liem district), Nhu Thi Minh (33 years old, residing in My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem district), Pham Van Chien (39 years old, residing in Cong Vi ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city) and Trinh Thi Hiep (38 years old, residing in Phu Son ward, Thanh Hoa city).

Working with the police, the suspects initially confessed that from the beginning of 2023 until their arrest, this group had produced and sold more than 20,000 boxes of fake Vu Hoang Thanh Tam An Cung Hoan pills to the market, with a value equivalent to about 50 billion VND.
Thanh Hoa City Police are continuing to investigate the case.
