The Southern Qualifying Round of the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament opened with great excitement

After the Northern qualifying round, the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament will continue with the Southern qualifying round taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

Leading the way is the National Flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Next is the flag formation of the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament. And finally, the Fairplay flag team, symbolizing the spirit of honest and noble sportsmanship, is gradually entering the ceremony area.

On the morning of October 10, the Southern qualifying round of the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament officially opened at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium (HCMC).

The Southern qualifying round, with the participation of 23 teams, will take place from October 10 to 13 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium and People's Police University (HCMC).

The 23 participating teams are divided into 6 groups. The 6 group winners and the 2 best runners-up from the 6 groups will advance to the quarter-finals. These are also the first 8/10 teams from the Southern qualifying round to qualify for the Final Round.

The next two best runners-up in the six groups will also secure the remaining two tickets to the Finals.

Compared to the Northern qualifying round - which only had 16 participating teams, the Southern qualifying round has a larger number of participating teams, so the competition promises to be even higher for teams to be able to win tickets to the quarter-finals and finals.

Last year, Sacombank Binh Duong excellently won the runner-up position in the Final Round. This year, the team shortened to Sacombank and gathered many excellent players from other branches, so it is even more evident that it will be a strong candidate for the championship.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , and the Vietnam Football Federation. This is the third consecutive year the tournament has taken place.

The 2025 tournament is sponsored by Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO), Dong Luc Sports Group, HTP Pharmaceutical Investment Joint Stock Company, Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company, Sunshine Group, Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO), Faslink Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company, 108 Central Military Hospital, 175 Military Hospital and a number of enterprises.

The Northern qualifying round took place from October 3 to 5 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, determining 6 names to win tickets to the national final round, including the champion, the People's Public Security Trade Union.
