Previously, after the final match had 7 red cards, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) affirmed that it would investigate and severely punish those involved in the brawl.

“We are truly disappointed and would like to apologize to the audience and the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee for the incident in the men's football final.

We will set up an investigation committee to urgently find out the cause of the fight and will have appropriate punishment for those involved in this incident,” said FAT President Somyot Poompanmoung.

Not only that, many Thai football fans also expressed their indignation after player Jonathan Khemdee threw away his medal after the final match.
