According to information from the Nam Dinh football team, the striker born in 1997 was brought onto the field at the end of the second half, ending a 10-month injury treatment period. "Xuan Son needs more time to make a perfect comeback," the Nam Dinh club's homepage hopes.

Xuan Son suffered a serious injury in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final in Thailand earlier this year, forcing him to undergo months of treatment and rehabilitation in Vietnam as well as his home country, Brazil. During his treatment, Xuan Son showed his professionalism and strong will, regularly posting training photos on social media, thereby demonstrating his determination to return to the top of his game.

Although he can participate in the competition, the 28-year-old striker cannot play in the V.League 2025/26 because his name is not on the registration list in the first leg.
