Mr. Truong Hoang Nhi designs a model of a miniature house in the West. |
When meeting Mr. Truong Hoang Nhi while he was completing the Western house landscape to prepare for delivery to the customer, Mr. Nhi said: “In 2009, after finishing grade 10, I quit school to work as a worker in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2023, I returned to my hometown to help my family. I love drawing art, so in my free time, I researched on social networking sites and came up with the idea of making models of old houses on the ground, stilt houses... to satisfy my passion for creativity."
According to Nhi, having lived in the border area since childhood, he is familiar with the image of stilt houses and dirt houses, both rustic and simple, and familiar in this land. In 2023, he assembled a model of a Western house, posted it, shared it on social networking platforms, and many people liked it and contacted him to place orders. From there, he decided to start a business with this model.
Through research, most of Mr. Nhi's house models recreate the life of people in the Mekong Delta. The main materials used to make miniature landscapes are: Cardboard, wooden sticks, glue, paint... Each miniature house is made through many stages such as: Preparing materials, building the house frame, building the legs, building walls, making windows, roofing, arranging items around the house... As soon as the customer places an order, Mr. Nhi sketches out ideas and starts making the model.
First, he measured the house to the appropriate proportions, then cut, joined, and connected the wooden pieces to build the house frame. Depending on the theme and order, he cut, glued, painted... to create an eye-catching product that met the requirements.
During the process, Mr. Nhi used iron glue combined with thin tissue paper as an adhesive to help the joints stick more firmly. The corrugated iron roof of the model was realistically recreated by cutting cardboard, using a corrugated layer in the middle to simulate corrugated iron sheets. Finally, he painted the material and made household items according to the customer's request.
Depending on the model, it takes Nhi 3-5 days on average to complete the product. Also depending on the size, the product price will range from 400,000 VND - 5,000,000 VND. Up to now, he has made more than 30 miniature landscape models of Western houses for sale to customers in and outside the province. At the same time, through channels: Tiktok, Youtube, Zalo... Nhi has reached more customers.
Mr. Le Hung Cuong, Vice Chairman of Thuong Phuoc Commune People's Committee said: "In the coming time, the locality will continue to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, unions and units to advise and implement policies to support young people starting a business; strengthen the connection between young people with ideas and start-up models with businesses, entrepreneurs and state management agencies.
At the same time, diversify forms of support in terms of capital, technology, and product output in the direction of socializing resources. In addition, focus on propaganda, orientation, support, and creating conditions for young people to develop effective economic models; promptly commend and reward innovative models and methods as well as outstanding collectives and individuals in the start-up movement in the area...
