According to Hanoi Police, in recent times, Hanoi City Police ( Economic Police Department) has closely coordinated with Tax Department Region 1 to carry out propaganda, prevention and combat against violations of the law in e-commerce business activities of organizations and individuals in the city.
Accordingly, since the beginning of 2025, Hanoi City Police discovered that Vu Nam Phuong (aka Vu Hong Phuc "Cun Bong") was trading in large quantities of fruits and functional foods at VHP store (located at 29 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi) and through e-commerce channels, social networking sites (Facebook page: VHP Premium), and personal social networking accounts under the name Vu Hong Phuc, with suspected violations in business activities.
During the investigation, Hanoi Police determined that Nguyen Nam Thang (30 years old, residing in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi, husband of Vu Nam Phuong) established the US Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Tax code: 0108014583, address: 6th floor, 312 Hue Street, Hue Street, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi) since around 2017.
From 2023 to present, Phuong and Thang opened the VHP store at the above address and operated business activities through e-commerce channels and social networks under the legal entity of US Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; at the same time, hired Chu Thi My Nhung (40 years old, residing in Thanh Luong ward, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi; no criminal record) as an accountant.
During their operations, from 2023 to present, Phuong and Thang directed Nhung to declare revenue to the authorities of only more than 5 billion VND. Meanwhile, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency initially clarified that their actual revenue was more than 120 billion VND, causing tax losses to the State budget of more than 10 billion VND (Hanoi Police are continuing to verify the amount of more than 500 billion VND transacted through Vu Nam Phuong's account).
On June 17 and 18, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency coordinated with the Tax Department of Region I and the Hanoi People's Procuracy to carry out emergency search warrants at the residences and workplaces of the subjects, seizing many documents and electronic devices related to the crimes.
