General rehearsal of the special art program 'Hai Phong - The quintessence of heritage land'

The stage of the special art program “ Hai Phong - The quintessence of heritage land” is designed with a 3-storey layout, showing the historical flow - present - future of the city.

On the evening of October 6, at the Kiep Bac Temple relic site (Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong city), the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival held a rehearsal for the special art program "Hai Phong - Quintessence of Heritage Land".

Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee attended and directed the rehearsal.

Also attending were comrades: Bui Van Thang, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Nguyen Minh Hung, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and coordinating units.

At the rehearsal, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau acknowledged the efforts of the artists, actors, production crew and coordinating units. He emphasized that this is not only a national art program but also an opportunity to promote the image of Hai Phong - Hai Duong - Quang Ninh - Bac Ninh as a convergence of heritage, contributing to spreading the historical and cultural values and patriotism of the Vietnamese people.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Organizing Committee to review and adjust some contents to make the program's images more vivid, highlighting the heritage and unique features of Hai Phong. At the same time, he emphasized: Singers and dancers need to coordinate closely, perform decisive and strong movements; ensure equipment and techniques operate safely, even in bad weather conditions.

The art program "Hai Phong - The quintessence of heritage land" is the highlight in a series of activities to celebrate the 725th anniversary of the death of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, opening the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2025. This is also an occasion to celebrate the event of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac relic complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

The program was elaborately staged, bringing together many leading artists, actors, and singers from the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater, the Dong Cheo Theater, the Vietnam Dance Academy, along with the armed forces and students of Sao Do University.

The script includes a ceremonial part and an artistic part. The ceremonial part takes place solemnly with the drum beating ceremony to open the festival and the reading of the memorial service for Saint Tran.

The choir was elaborately staged, combining music, lighting and illustrated dance.

The art part is divided into four sections, recreating the historical journey and cultural quintessence of the heritage site. The opening section is “Prestige of Kiep Bac” depicting the heroic spirit of Dong A and the glorious feat of Tran Hung Dao.

Next is "Buddha Emperor and Truc Lam Zen sect", shining the idea of harmony between religion and life.

The passage "Linh khi Con Son" evokes a peaceful space where Nguyen Trai hid himself to read books, pondering about humanity and morality.

The program ended with the segment "Hai Phong shines in the heritage land", honoring the dynamic port city, converging unique cultural and historical values, and aspirations to rise up in the integration period.

Despite the heavy rain, the rehearsal took place seriously, ensuring sound, lighting and stage techniques. The performances were performed smoothly, harmoniously combining traditional and modern performing arts, promising to bring the audience an emotional night of art.
