Ho Chi Minh City honors outstanding students at all levels for the first time

On October 16, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced a plan to honor outstanding students at all levels in the city. Students with good deeds and practical work will also be honored.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the activity of honoring outstanding students at educational institutions is aimed at building happy schools.

The specific process of selecting and honoring outstanding students is as follows:

Honoring outstanding students in class

Students in each class can run for election or nominate and introduce exemplary students. Based on achievements in movement activities; specific and practical work; good examples of good people and good deeds; beautiful actions of students that have a spreading influence in the collective and society; and outstanding efforts in the learning and training process, classes will organize elections in the form of secret ballot with full nominations on the list.

Each student chooses one outstanding student in the class to ensure transparency. The student with the highest number of votes is the honored student. For primary school students, voting can be chosen.

The homeroom teacher will organize a simple and meaningful ceremony to honor outstanding students in the class. Collect suggestions to honor outstanding students from all classes.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training instructs: the election of outstanding students is carried out by students under the guidance of homeroom teachers, ensuring publicity, fairness and democracy.

Homeroom teachers coordinate with parents to choose a form of commendation that is suitable to the class's conditions, simple but meaningful, and at the same time widely propagate on the class bulletin board to spread the spirit of learning.

Once completed, the teacher sends the list of students nominated for school-level honors to school leaders for review.

Honoring outstanding students at school level

The leaders of educational institutions will compile the nomination list from classes, publicize the list of nominated students and conduct a secret ballot (by student representatives of each class, the Team Leader at primary and secondary schools, youth assistants or school Youth Union secretaries at high schools and Continuing Education Centers).

Homeroom teachers plan to organize ceremonies to honor outstanding students monthly, quarterly, yearly, or on major holidays.

For students honored as brave examples, noble actions, meaningful stories that have spread throughout the education sector, units can send them to the Department for propaganda and introduction.

"Educational institutions will organize appropriate forms of honor according to the actual situation of the unit, ensuring widespread meaning.

Implement "Letters of Merit" to honor students issued by the principal and rewards and gifts (if any).

"Post pictures, achievements, video clips, and share the feelings of exemplary students on the bulletin board or the unit's website to spread the message to students and parents" - the department's document stated.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also stipulates that when honoring outstanding students, units must ensure the right person, right job, and be economical, effective, solemn, meaningful, and not just a formality.
