Hanoi: Non-specialized schools have many students participating in national excellent student competitions

Hanoi announced the list of 247 students from 13 teams in the subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, Japanese, German to participate in the National Excellent Student Exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Each Hanoi team is allowed to send 20 contestants to compete, however some teams have fewer members due to the requirement to ensure the quality of contestants. For example, 19 students took part in Russian, and only 8 students took part in Japanese.

Among them, Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted leads with 140 students; Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted 49 students; Chu Van An High School for the Gifted 36 students; Son Tay High School for the Gifted 9 students.

Leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training congratulated and encouraged students to study hard and achieve good results in the National Excellent Student Exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

It is worth mentioning that in the list of candidates for this year's national excellent student contest in Hanoi, there are many students from other private and non-specialized public schools, including: Newton Secondary and High School with 9 students; Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School with 1 student; Hoang Long High School with 1 student; Quang Trung High School - Ha Dong with 2 students.

In his speech to encourage the students, Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that for many years, the education sector has always been steadfast in its goal of building Hanoi into a typical center of the country for high-quality education and training, valuing "Talent is the vitality of the nation." Nurturing excellent students is not only a professional task but also a responsibility and a noble mission - to realize the goal of Real learning - Real exams - Real talent.

The students selected to compete in the national excellent student competition are typical examples of intelligence, determination and a desire to learn. To be on this list, they had to overcome many rounds of competition and intense training sessions, demonstrating outstanding abilities and a spirit of perseverance and effort.

This year, Hanoi was allowed to send 20 students to take part in each subject. However, there were subjects that did not have enough candidates.

Leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training require teachers and schools to focus on training, caring for, and closely accompanying each student, helping them to be psychologically confident and have solid knowledge before entering the exam.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, last year, Hanoi students continued to lead the country in national and international competitions for excellent students with 18 international Gold, Silver and Bronze medals; 200 students won prizes in the National Competition for Excellent Students.
