From October 13-15, at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology hosted the National Strategic Technology Products Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, an event to welcome the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
With the theme "Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - Confidently and firmly entering the new era, the era of national growth", the exhibition is a space to display outstanding achievements in science , technology, innovation and digital transformation, reflecting the image of a dynamic, creative and internationally integrated Ho Chi Minh City.
650 products belonging to 11 strategic technology groups
The exhibition gathered nearly 30 booths with more than 650 products and solutions belonging to 11 national strategic technology groups. This is an opportunity for corporations, businesses and institutes - schools to introduce advanced technologies, contributing to shaping the appearance of smart and modern urban areas.
In the information technology, electronics, AI and IoT group, units such as CMC , Viettel, CT Group, QTSC, MobiFone, MISA, VNU-HCM... introduced many outstanding products: AI ecosystem, digital transformation platform, network security solutions, smart kiosk, Edge AI camera, semiconductor chips and administrative robots.
Notably, CT Group displayed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solutions and carbon credit trading floors – a green direction in line with global trends.
The smart healthcare and biomedical equipment sector attracted delegates with the da Vinci Xi surgical robot system, the Modus V Synaptive robot using AI, and IoT-integrated healthcare and vaccine solutions. In addition, the HCC App was also introduced as a smart healthcare solution, using AI to warn of early stroke risks and monitor health.
Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) introduced semiconductor chips, robots, automation, and smart energy products; VB Tech introduced automatic robot models; Vietsovpetro brought the PROV-01 mini diving robot - a remote-controlled underwater survey vehicle, operating at a depth of 100m, serving the survey of marine works, drilling rigs, and underground cables.
In addition, the exhibition also features green technologies, new materials and smart agricultural models from ALTA Group, Net Zero 2050 eco-industrial park, VSIP, Eastern International University - Becamex IDC, Unifarm...
The digital banking, blockchain, and STEM education group with the participation of HDBank, KDI Education Company, and MoMo, introduced modern education models, STEM robots, and advanced financial technology solutions.
Spirit of innovation - aspiration to reach international level
According to the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, in the period of 2021-2025, the City achieved many outstanding results in digital economic development, innovation and productivity improvement.
The digital economy is expected to account for 25% of GRDP by 2025, with total factor productivity (TFP) contributing 59% to growth, putting Ho Chi Minh City in the Top 2 in the country in terms of digital transformation and innovation index, Top 5 in Southeast Asia and Top 110 globally in terms of startup ecosystem.
Towards the 2025–2030 period, the City aims to become an international innovation center, with the digital economy accounting for 30–40% of GRDP and TFP contributing 60% to growth.
To realize the vision of sustainable development, Ho Chi Minh City focuses on three key breakthrough solutions, aiming to build a comprehensive ecosystem.
Firstly, in terms of mechanisms, policies and investment attraction, the City will form international standard testing zones (sandboxes) with specific mechanisms, promote public-private and public-public cooperation models, develop strong, autonomous research organizations and have special preferential policies to attract talent.
Second, regarding strategic technology and innovation ecosystem, the City prioritizes the development of key areas such as AI, Blockchain, semiconductor chips; building Big Data centers and flexible startup support funds, attracting venture capital.
Third, on digital governance and digital human resources, focusing on perfecting the shared data platform, promoting digital government, developing high-tech human resources, attracting international experts, ensuring network safety and security - considering it an issue of digital sovereignty.
With these orientations, Ho Chi Minh City strives to become a leading center of science, technology and innovation, contributing to building a digital economy, green economy, circular economy and deep integration with the global knowledge economy.
On the afternoon of October 12, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy inspected the preparations at the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials. The City leaders highly appreciated the progress and quality of the implementation, and at the same time requested the Organizing Committee to arrange a lively performance space to help delegates attending the Congress feel more clearly the technological progress of Ho Chi Minh City in the new era.
The National Strategic Technology Products Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City will officially open on the morning of October 13, right at the preparatory session of the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030. This is considered a meaningful activity, demonstrating the spirit of innovation and creativity, the aspiration to reach international level of the City named after Uncle Ho in the new development period.
