This is a practical activity to implement the Party and State's policies on gratitude, showing deep gratitude for the great contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Ngo Vu Thang expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the relatives of the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who were posthumously awarded the title. According to Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, the awarding of the title shows the deep gratitude of the Party, State and people for the great contributions and sacrifices of the mothers, who have contributed to creating the golden pages of history of the Vietnamese nation.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Home Affairs, relevant sectors and local authorities at the grassroots level to enhance their sense of responsibility, promote the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking", take care of policy families, people with revolutionary contributions in general, families of martyrs and Vietnamese heroic mothers, so that all policy families can have a prosperous and happy life; continue to review and complete the dossiers for posthumous award of titles to eligible cases. The provincial leaders also expressed their hope that families of Vietnamese heroic mothers and policy families continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, always be a shining example for their children, grandchildren and the community to follow.
According to Decision No. 1342/QD-CTN signed on July 17, 2025, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam posthumously awarded the above noble title to 8 mothers in Ca Mau province. The honored mothers are all those whose children are martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, demonstrating patriotism and steadfast revolutionary tradition.
The Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who were posthumously awarded the title include: Mother Tra Thi Mau, Mother Tran Thi Bien, Mother Truong Thi Doi (all from Nguyen Viet Khai commune); Mother Ngo Thi Chot (Luong The Tran commune); Mother Tran Thi Thoi (Da Bac commune); Mother Pham Thi Sang (Nguyen Phich commune); Mother Duong Thi Dua (U Minh commune); Mother Le Thi Tuoi (Nam Can commune).
Up to now, the whole province of Ca Mau has 4,668 mothers who have been awarded and posthumously awarded the honorary title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother", of which 70 mothers are still alive. In recent years, the Party Committee and authorities at all levels in Ca Mau province have always paid attention to and effectively implemented policies of gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Many practical activities have been carried out such as the movement to receive lifelong care for living mothers, care for elderly and lonely relatives of martyrs, regularly organize visits and give gifts to mothers on holidays and Tet. These meaningful activities have contributed to helping mothers and their families ease their pain and loss.
