Ca Mau: Provincial National Assembly Delegation grasps socio-economic situation before the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly

Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Huy Thai; Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Quoc Han; National Assembly Delegate Nguyen Duy Thanh chaired the Conference.

Also attending were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Huu Tri; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The conference was held to collect information and listen to opinions from departments, branches and localities on the results of socio -economic development in recent times; at the same time, record recommendations and proposals related to law-making, policy implementation, as well as to resolve existing problems in the area.

This is a regular and practical activity, helping the Provincial National Assembly Delegation synthesize information, prepare questions, recommendations and contributions at the upcoming session of the National Assembly .

At the conference, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ca Mau Province Nguyen Huy Thai reported a summary of voters' opinions and recommendations sent to the National Assembly before the session. Accordingly, voters expressed their consensus and excitement at the initial results of the reorganization of the local government apparatus according to the 2-level model, especially in institutional reform, streamlining the apparatus, promoting socio-economic development, and improving people's lives.

Besides, voters also reflected many practical difficulties that are affecting life and production, hoping that the National Assembly, the Government and ministries and branches will soon have solutions to remove them.

Representative of the Provincial People's Committee, Director of the Department of Finance Huynh Cong Quan reported on the socio-economic situation in the first 9 months of 2025. Accordingly, the province's GRDP is estimated to increase by more than 7.5% over the same period; the service sector increased the highest, reaching over 9%. Regarding the organizational arrangement, the province has reduced 13 specialized agencies and 1 administrative unit under the Provincial People's Committee; at the same time, nearly 3,000 cadres, civil servants and public employees have quit their jobs according to the policy of streamlining the payroll, with a total support budget of more than 3,000 billion VND.

The Provincial People's Committee also proposed that the National Assembly and the Government consider allowing the expansion of the Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Complex; issue a special mechanism for localities in the Mekong Delta to increase the scale of construction material exploitation; and at the same time allow Ca Mau to pilot a model of building social housing in the form of individual houses and apartments suitable to local conditions.

Relevant departments and branches also discussed and exchanged many specific contents.

Providing more information about the shortage of construction materials, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Le Thanh Huan said that the Department has surveyed the supply source in Khanh Hoa province and is working with transport units to ensure the source of materials for key projects.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Huynh Huu Tri acknowledged and accepted the opinions of the National Assembly delegation and voters, and agreed on the policy of building overpasses when implementing expressways passing through the province. This is a solution to adapt to climate change, while overcoming the shortage of construction materials, ensuring the sustainability and long-term effectiveness of the project.

On behalf of the Delegation, receiving all opinions and recommendations, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Quoc Han emphasized that the opinions and recommendations at the conference will be an important source of information, contributing to helping the National Assembly Delegation of Ca Mau province prepare carefully, participate closely and effectively at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly, especially in the work of making recommendations and proposing policies to remove difficulties and promote local socio-economic development.
