Proud to be a person of A Sao commune

In the turbulent flow of Vietnamese history, there are lands that not only mark ups and downs but also crystallize profound cultural and spiritual values, becoming the pride of many generations.

A Sao commune, now in Hung Yen province, is such a land. Carrying the sacred atmosphere of the Hoa river, embracing the heroic vestiges of the Tran army under the talented command of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, A Sao is not only a place name but also a symbol of patriotism, indomitable will and the aspiration for independence and freedom of the nation. Today, when A Sao commune turns a new page in its administrative history, each of us is filled with deep pride in living and growing up on this land of talented people.

Located on the banks of the gentle Hoa River, A Sao not only possesses a beautiful and fertile landscape but also has an extremely important strategic position. Bordering key economic zones such as Hai Phong and Hai Duong , A Sao converges the sacred energy of the river and the sea, creating a dangerous terrain, favorable for defense and development. Because of this special location, A Sao was chosen as the fief of Phung Can Vuong Tran Lieu, father of the national hero Tran Quoc Tuan. The title "Duc Thanh Tran" that our people often use to call Tran Quoc Tuan not only shows respect and admiration but also proves his great contributions to the country.

Folk song "No matter who you are, you must get off your horse when passing A Sao temple." has penetrated deeply into the consciousness of every Vietnamese person. It not only shows the solemnity and sacredness of A Sao temple but also shows respect for this land - which was once the strong headquarters of the Tran Dynasty army. Legend has it that at the age of 18, Tran Quoc Tuan was assigned by the royal court to guard A Sao land. At a young age, he showed his strategic vision and outstanding military ability, laying a solid foundation for his later glorious victories.

Following the flow of language and culture, the name A Sao also carries profound meanings, closely associated with the great career of the Tran Dynasty. The letter "A" in Chinese, when broken down, is "Dong A", meaning "Tran family". The word "Sao" means nest, nest. Thus, A Sao can be understood as the "nest" of the Tran Dynasty. When the Tran Dynasty won consecutive resounding victories in three resistance wars against the invading Yuan-Mongol army, the fighting spirit of the Dai Viet army and people was praised with the phrase "Dong A heroism". The name A Sao therefore became more sacred and meaningful, symbolizing the origin and nurturing of the strength of a heroic dynasty.

More than 700 years have passed, but on the land of Quynh Phu (old) there are still traces of the granary system, an important part of the logistics of the Tran Dynasty army. Place names such as Me Thuong village (rice warehouse), A Me (rice storage place of the Tran Dynasty), Dai Nam (large granary), Am Qua village (sword warehouse), Go Dong Yen (horse saddle making place) ... are not only names but also silent witnesses of a heroic historical period.

Besides, A Sao is also associated with Ben Tuong, a place that bears the mark of the third resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol army in 1288. Legend has it that when Tran Hung Dao led a large army across the Hoa River to Luc Dau Giang, where the decisive battle with the Yuan-Mongol army led by O Ma Nhi took place, an elephant got stuck in the mud at this river wharf.

Going back in history, since the time of the Trung Sisters raising the flag of uprising in Me Linh in 40 AD, the land of A Sao has been a gathering place for heroes and heroes. General Le Do in Dong Trang Hiep Luc village (now Hiep Luc hamlet, An Khe commune (old) just merged into A Sao commune) also stood up to recruit soldiers, trained day and night to then march to Me Linh (Hanoi) to join the uprising army of the Trung Sisters.

In the context of the country entering a new development stage, the implementation of the Party Central Committee's Resolution on streamlining the apparatus and reorganizing administrative units is a strategic step, opening up many opportunities for localities to develop more strongly. Thai Binh and Hung Yen merged into the new Hung Yen province, Quynh Phu district also merged communes. People of An Khe, An Dong, An Thai, An Hiep communes joined a common commune with the name A Sao.

The merger of 4 communes into A Sao commune not only brings a new administrative appearance but also creates a greater combined strength. Each land has its own characteristics, potentials and strengths. When coming together as one commune, we can take advantage of and maximize those advantages, creating strong breakthroughs in economic, cultural and social development. We have more room to plan infrastructure development, attract investment, and improve the quality of life of the people.

With a glorious and heroic historical tradition that has been nurtured through many generations, from its inception until it became the gathering place of General Le Do, then the solid headquarters of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, we, the people of A Sao commune today, have the right to be proud of our homeland. That pride is not only pride in the past but also the motivation for us to continue writing glorious pages of history of our homeland in the new era. We have the responsibility to inherit and promote the good values of our ancestors, build A Sao to be more and more rich and civilized, contributing to bringing Hung Yen and the country into an era of rich and prosperous development.

A Sao is facing new opportunities and challenges. Economic planning and development is based on the existing potential of the land, combined with the preservation and promotion of cultural and historical values. The commune can fully exploit the potential of historical tourism by investing in the construction and restoration of relics related to the Tran Dynasty and General Le Do, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit and learn about the heroic history of the nation. In addition, the development of high-tech agriculture and traditional industries are also important directions to improve people's lives.

The pride of being a native of A Sao commune will forever be a great source of motivation, urging each of us to constantly strive and contribute to making our homeland increasingly rich, beautiful and prosperous.
