Hong Minh Commune: More than 50 hectares of vegetables and corn were flooded due to flood discharge.

Hong Minh commune has over 7 km of national dike, 3 culverts across the dike; nearly 4 km of dike; 180 hectares of land outside the dike for growing vegetables, fruit trees and 9 hectares of aquaculture.

50 hectares of vegetables and corn not yet ready for harvest of Hong Minh commune residents were completely lost.

Due to the impact of the flood discharge in the past few days, more than 50 hectares of vegetables and corn that have not yet reached harvest time and many areas of young corn planted on the alluvial land outside the dike of the commune are flooded and cannot be recovered. The entire aquaculture area is also seriously affected.

To cope with the impact   Due to flood discharge, Hong Minh commune has organized patrols and guarded the dikes day and night according to the alarm; strengthened inspection, detection and timely handling of developments and incidents of dikes, embankments and culverts caused by floods, especially at key points (Hong Phong embankment) according to the motto "Four on-site" ; reviewed and prepared materials, human resources and means to be ready to handle incidents from the first hour ; resolutely cleared material and goods dumps on river banks that obstruct flood drainage ; arranged shock forces, support forces, necessary means and tools to be ready when mobilized by superiors.
