Hong Vu Commune opens the traditional festival of Mo Dao Temple in 2025

Hong Vu commune leaders beat drums and gongs to open the festival.

Mo Dao Temple belongs to the historical-cultural relic cluster “Phan Ba Vanh Fort – Mo Dao Temple”, which worships Saint General Nguyen Hai, a talented general who helped the king lead the army to defeat the Song invaders and defeat the Siamese invaders. With his talent in commanding the navy, he and the Ly Dynasty army and people achieved glorious victories. During the resistance war against the French, Mo Dao Temple was also a place where many cadres from the old Thai Binh and Nam Dinh regions secretly carried out revolutionary activities.

This year's traditional festival of Mo Dao Temple takes place for 3 days, from October 2-4, 2025 (ie August 11, 12 and 13 of the lunar calendar). The festival consists of 2 parts: the ceremony is solemnly organized with traditional incense offering and sacrificial rituals; the festival takes place excitingly with many unique cultural, artistic and sports activities, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere. This is also an opportunity for the local government and people to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Mo Dao Temple being granted the National Historical - Cultural Relic Certificate by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (1990 - 2025).
