Depending on the storm situation, localities will let students take a day off on Monday (September 29).

On September 27, the Department of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 1357 to the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones; schools and centers under the Department; vocational training institutions; universities and private universities requesting proactive response to storm No. 10.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires heads of units and schools to strictly implement the directives and instructions of the City People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training and local authorities on natural disaster and flood prevention. Check and take measures to ensure the safety of assets and equipment at the workplace and in areas likely to be affected by heavy rain and strong winds.

Organize the implementation of construction protection plans, especially degraded constructions and unfinished constructions. Support and prune trees in the campus, trees at risk of breaking branches or falling; check ceiling fan systems, electrical equipment, electrical wires, and telecommunication cables to ensure safe heights and no danger when walking.

Check and reinforce fences, gates, ceilings, and roofs; preserve teaching equipment, books, and library materials; equip with means to respond to natural disasters.

For schools in flooded, low-lying areas, places with unsafe structures, bridges, etc. that can endanger teachers, workers, students, especially preschoolers, primary and secondary school students, there must be warning signs of dangerous areas and flooded areas; there must be plans to move assets and documents to safe locations.

Assign relevant departments to be on duty 24/7 to be ready to respond to any arising situations. When an incident or problem arises (before, during and after the storm), promptly report to the Department of Education and Training and local leaders for handling instructions.

Regularly update information on storm and heavy rain developments; maintain communication through multiple channels to inform students, parents, teachers, and employees at the unit to proactively respond safely.

Chairmen of People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones, heads of schools and centers under the Department (especially mountainous and border areas at risk of landslides and flash floods; low-lying areas at risk of flooding...) regularly monitor and base on the actual situation in the locality and region to decide whether preschool children, students and trainees in the area and of the school or center will be off school on Monday (September 29) and the following day (if necessary), inform the leaders of the Department of Education and Training to know and monitor.

Vocational training institutions and private universities and colleges shall, based on the actual situation, proactively decide on student attendance.

Proactively and promptly organize cleaning and sanitizing schools and classrooms after the storm, when the water recedes and the rain stops so that preschool children, students and trainees can return to school soon. In addition, promptly summarize and report on response work, overcoming consequences and damage after the storm (if any) to the Department of Education and Training before 8:00 a.m. on September 29.
