In Hoa Xuan ward, Hoa Phuoc Primary School No. 2 and Hoa Chau Primary School No. 1 have just coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the City Police to organize a propaganda session to disseminate knowledge and skills on fire prevention and fighting to students.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quy, Head of Hoa Xuan Ward Police, said that at the propaganda session, cadres, teachers, staff and students were equipped with basic knowledge of fire prevention and fighting, and analyzed the causes of fires, the dangerous nature of fires and explosions, as well as preventive measures and handling procedures when incidents occur.
In particular, the practical part attracted a large number of students to participate. They were instructed on fire alarm skills and how to escape safely in environments with a lot of smoke and toxic gases, such as using wet towels to cover their nose and mouth, and bending low along the wall to find a way out.
Ngo Thanh Nhan, a student at Hoa Phuoc Primary School, shared that the propaganda session provided a lot of useful knowledge, helping her better understand fire prevention and escape skills.
In Thanh Khe ward, Tran Cao Van Primary School with more than 1,400 students also organized many useful extracurricular activities. Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Principal of the school, said that through the practice stations, teachers and students were instructed and directly experienced escape skills in a simulated fire environment.

Many students were excited to use portable fire extinguishers to put out the fire. Many students expressed that they would share the knowledge they had just learned with their family and friends, contributing to spreading fire safety skills in the community.
Not only in the inner city, in mountainous communes such as Tien Phuoc commune, fire prevention and fighting propaganda work in schools is also focused on.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Chi Cuong, Head of Tien Phuoc Commune Police, said that the unit has coordinated with the Commune Youth Union and schools to organize legal propaganda and instruct on fire and explosion handling skills for thousands of students and teachers. At the same time, the authorities also recommended that schools pay attention to the safety of electrical systems and cooking equipment, and regularly check and maintain the equipped fire prevention and fighting equipment.
To increase the attractiveness, according to Major Tran Quoc Anh, an officer of Team 9, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, the propaganda sessions are often innovated in form, suitable for each age group. In addition to imparting knowledge through visual images, they also organize games, extracurricular activities, or experience "being a firefighter". Thanks to that, children can absorb easily and remember longer.
In addition to fire prevention, the propaganda content also incorporates topics on traffic safety, school violence prevention, social evil prevention and the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes. This helps students form a comprehensive awareness, linking life skills with risk prevention skills in study and life.
