On the afternoon of October 10, after 4 hours of traveling by motorbike from Mao Khe ward (old Dong Trieu), Nguyen Viet Thai (30 years old), a freelancer in the field of tourism marketing, arrived at the center of Binh Lieu. This place is located in the Northeast of Quang Ninh province, with nearly 50 km of border with China with a number of border markers that attract many tourists to take pictures, especially in the reed grass season.

In late October and early November, the white color of reeds covers the hillsides in Binh Lieu. Thai chose to hunt for reeds earlier than usual to avoid the crowds. When he reached milestone 1297, he said the reeds were blooming purple and white all over the road. Meanwhile, at milestone 1305, the reeds were just beginning to bloom. "After the storm, the reeds did not fall down," he told Tri Thuc - Znews.

This is the second time Thai has returned to Binh Lieu, after the trip in November 2022. This time, he focused on conquering two milestones 1297 and 1305. Milestone 1305 is the most famous in Binh Lieu with a road called "dinosaur spine" running about 2 km on the mountain ridge, with cliffs on both sides. The winding road forms a wall separating the territories of Vietnam and China.

According to Thai, from now until early November is the time when the grass is in full bloom and at its most beautiful white. Before the trip, he monitored the weather and chose a sunny day to set off.

With experience traveling alone through many journeys, including a trip across Vietnam for more than 2 months in June, Thai said that going to Binh Lieu this time was quite easy. The roads are now concreted, easy to travel, he just needs to monitor the weather, prepare his health and bring a few bottles of water for the trekking trip.

During the 2-day-1-night trip, in addition to admiring the reeds, Thai was lucky to see a rainbow and a brilliant sunset on the reed hill 1297. He described it as a perfect moment with full sun, wind, clouds and rain. "A reed paradise, a beautiful border afternoon", said the male tourist.

Thai chose to stay at a motel right in the center of Binh Lieu, with a single room costing 300,000 VND/night and fully equipped. Because the trip was short, he only dined at cheap restaurants and did not have the opportunity to enjoy local specialties.

According to Thai, those who come to Binh Lieu for the first time should prepare physically, mentally and "a beautiful soul to enjoy nature". He said that the road up to milestone 1305 has now been concreted, has many steps so it is quite easy to walk, only the last few hundred meters are dirt roads. Visitors should bring water and keep their energy, because the climb up to the milestone can make many people tired. The second time conquering milestone 1305, Thai felt happy and proud to have returned to the place where his footsteps were imprinted.

Because the area of ​​the landmarks is close to the Chinese border, phone signals are often unstable. Thai advises tourists to download a map or ask locals to avoid getting lost. "I hope more and more people will know and travel to Binh Lieu, because the landscape here is truly majestic and fresh. For me, each trip is also a way to introduce my hometown Quang Ninh to more tourists," he said.
