The End of Ugarte

Just over a year after arriving at Old Trafford for £50 million from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Manuel Ugarte is facing the risk of being sold.

Ugarte is likely to leave MU.

According to MEN , information about coach Rúben Amorim's tense internal meeting with MU players has just been leaked. Coach Amorim did not hesitate to make harsh criticisms aimed at Ugarte.

He directly told the midfielder he had coached at Sporting CP: “You are no longer the player you were at Sporting.” This was a harsh comment, referring to Ugarte’s decline in form since his £50 million move to Manchester United last summer.

Recently, rumors about MU wanting to sell Ugarte have been increasingly intense, especially after coach Ruben Amorim publicly admitted the limitations in the midfielder's playing style. This could be the end of a deal that was once expected to revolutionize the "Red Devils" midfield.

At Sporting, Ugarte stood out for his strong tackling ability, averaging 2.5 tackles per game, but at Manchester United that figure dropped to just 1.8. Amorim’s high pressing system in the 3-4-3 requires a dynamism that Ugarte doesn’t seem to have.

Ugarte, despite being an "old acquaintance" of Amorim at Sporting, is no longer the number one choice in the MU midfield. He is also often criticized for lacking speed and creativity.
