Accordingly, the Conference will be held in Hue City from October 14 to 16, with the participation of more than 100 domestic and international delegates including: Vietnam, China, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka.
Among them, nearly 30 mayors and city representatives are members of OWHC-AP, along with many leading heritage experts in the region.
With the theme “Livability for sustainable development of World Heritage cities”, the conference will focus on exchanging policies, urban management experiences, and solutions to improve the quality of life in cities with unique heritage values.
Within the framework of the conference, there will be a special session introducing the New Urban Project (NUP) chaired by the OWHC General Secretariat, aiming at smart, sustainable and community-connected urban models.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will also organize a World Heritage Research Contest (in the form of “Golden Bell”) with the participation of 50 students from high schools in Hue City. Thereby, it aims to connect and promote the spirit of cooperation between generations, from policy makers to young people - the core force in the future.
Hue is a typical heritage city of Vietnam, which not only preserves traditional cultural values but also pioneers conservation initiatives associated with sustainable development. Hosting the 5th OWHC-AP Conference will contribute to spreading the message of heritage conservation while improving the quality of life, towards a harmonious future between tradition and modernity.
This is also an opportunity for Hue City to promote its image, culture and tourism to international friends, attracting the attention of international organizations and young people. At the same time, it contributes to strengthening the cooperative relationship between heritage cities in the Asia- Pacific region.
