The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: “Vietnam welcomes the agreement between Israel and Hamas to soon end the current conflict in the Gaza Strip and appreciates the mediation and reconciliation efforts of the countries that helped reach this agreement.

We call on all parties concerned to seriously comply with the agreement, create conditions for achieving a two-state solution, and move towards a sustainable and lasting peace solution to the Palestinian issue.

Vietnam supports and stands ready to actively contribute to the international community's efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip on the basis of respecting national sovereignty and principles of international law as well as the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."

US President Donald Trump and more than 20 international leaders attended the Gaza Strip summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on October 13. Here, Mr. Trump signed a ceasefire agreement called the "Trump Peace Agreement" to officially end the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to the peace roadmap proposed by the US President, after Hamas and Israel hand over hostages in exchange for prisoners, Israel will begin withdrawing its forces from the Gaza Strip to prepare for the next steps of negotiations. On October 13, Hamas released 20 Israeli hostages, in exchange for the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
