VN-Index fluctuates, driving force comes from large-cap group

On October 23, the stock market recorded lower-than-average liquidity and clearly differentiated trading. Foreign investors continued to sell warrants, putting pressure on investor sentiment. The VN-Index increased slightly around 1,687.06 points (+0.51%) when buying pressure at the end of the session pulled back after the initial sharp decline.

Market liquidity decreased sharply compared to yesterday's session, with total trading volume on the three floors reaching more than 863 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND27,087 billion.

Foreign investors continued to sell strongly on all three exchanges, with a net value of more than VND1,533 billion, focusing on CTG (VND263.3 billion), VHM (VND208.2 billion), MSN (VND165 billion), SSI (VND129.71 billion), VRE (VND104.84 billion)...

On the contrary, the stocks with the most net purchases in this session includedFPT (225.82 billion VND), HDB (175.92 billion VND), VJC (114.91 billion VND), HDG (82.84 billion VND), FRT (51.62 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the matched order value this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching more than VND 22,779 billion.

This session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increasing by 17.05 points included: VIC, VHM, LPB, VPL, VJC, GAS, MWG, HDB, VCB, PNJ.

On the contrary, the codes that negatively impacted the VN-Index by 6.42 points included: TCB, CTG, VPB, FPT, VIX, HVN, BID, MBB, SSI, GEX.

In terms of industry groups, this session, software stocks leaned towards red, down 2.07%, mainly from codes FPT, CMG, ELC, ITD, HPT, SBD, CMT...

The real estate stocks group this session recorded an increase of 2.9%, mainly from codes VIC, VHM, VRE, BCM, KDH, NVL, CRV, TAL, VPI, NLG, SIP... On the contrary, the codes that decreased included KBC, KSF, PDR, DXG, SJS, TCH, CEO, DIG, IDC...

Energy stocks traded in green and closed up 0.98%, mainly from codes BSR , PVS, PVD, OIL, PVT, PVP, VTO, VIP, PVC... Some codes decreased including TMB, VTV, MGC, ITS...

The group of raw material stocks this session recorded an increase of 1.34%, mainly from codes GVR, DGC, MSR, DCM, DPM, NTP, HT1, NKG, PHR, VIF, TVN, DDV... On the contrary, the codes that decreased included HPG, KSV, HSG, ACG, HGM, RTB, VFG, LIC, MZG, LBM, DRG...

Insurance stocks this session were mostly green, up 2.04%, mainly from codes BVH, PVI, BIC, VNR, PRE, ABI... Some codes decreased including MIG, BMI, PGI...

* The Vietnamese stock market index today had a mixed performance, VNXALL-Index closed up 9.61 points (+0.33%), at 2,907.16 points. Liquidity with a trading volume of more than 789.45 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 25,560.65 billion. In the whole market, there were 183 stocks increasing in price, 84 stocks remaining unchanged and 178 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 266.78 points, down 1.91 points (-0.71%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 82.61 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND2,024.72 billion. In the whole market, there were 68 stocks increasing in price, 69 stocks remaining unchanged and 71 stocks decreasing in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 6.99 points (-1.19%) to 578.11 points. Trading volume reached over 62.68 million units, equivalent to over VND1,787.7 billion. In the whole market, there were 16 stocks increasing in price, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 12 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 111.04 points, up 1.22 points (+1.11%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 27.35 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 484.25 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 151 stocks increasing in price, 74 stocks remaining unchanged and 84 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed up 8.56 points (+0.51%) to 1,687.06 points. Liquidity reached over 753.33 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over VND24,578.6 billion. The entire floor had 157 stocks increasing, 50 stocks remaining unchanged and 156 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index increased by 14.9 points (+0.77%) and stopped at 1,945.78 points. Liquidity reached more than 347.8 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of more than VND 13,650.34 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 14 stocks increasing, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 14 stocks decreasing.

The 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are SHB (over 80.03 million units), HDB (over 34.26 million units), KDH (over 13.83 million units), NVL (over 13.1 million units), VRE (over 10.63 million units).

The 5 stocks with the highest price increase are SVC (+6.99%), LGC (+6.91%), DXV (+6.9%), VSC (+6.88%), SVD (+6.87%).
