VnExpressVnExpress17/01/2024

The British Royal Family announced that Princess Kate has undergone successful abdominal surgery and will be in hospital for two weeks.

"The surgery was successful and it is expected that the Princess will remain in hospital for approximately 10-14 days before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on medical advice, the Princess is currently unable to undertake official duties until after Easter (March 31)," Kensington Palace announced on January 17.

Princess Kate, 42, underwent surgery at a private hospital in central London on January 16. Kensington Palace added that the princess hoped to receive sympathy from the public.

"The princess hopes the public understands that she wants to maintain as normal a life as possible for her children and wishes for her personal health information to be kept private," the statement added.

Royal officials have refused to say what treatment Kate is receiving but insist she does not have cancer. Kensington Palace has said it will only release further information about the Princess when it becomes necessary to announce new information.

"The Princess would like to apologise to those concerned as she has been forced to postpone her upcoming engagements. She wants to return as soon as possible," Kensington Palace said.
