Bang Lang Commune releases hawks into the wild. |
Previously, while working at home, Mr. Tuyen discovered a strange bird that had flown into the family's chicken coop, showing signs of a minor injury to its wing. Realizing that this was a rare bird of prey, he temporarily detained and cared for it, and proactively reported and handed it over to the local authorities for handling according to regulations.
Immediately after receiving the bird, the authorities coordinated with the commune government to check the health of the bird. Through observation, it was a Burmese Buzzard, a bird of prey with the scientific name Spilornis cheela, and according to international documents and environmental press, this species has been included in the red list of threatened species since 2016. At the same time, it should be noted that, according to Vietnamese law, the Burmese Buzzard belongs to group IIB of endangered, precious, and rare wild animals, protected under regulations on wildlife protection.
After ensuring its health was stable, the authorities and Bang Lang commune government released the hawk back into the natural environment in the forest in the commune.
