Determined all 15 opponents of Vietnam futsal team at Asian tournament

(Dan Tri) - After Group D, the final group of the 2026 Asian futsal qualifiers, ended this morning (October 23), the continental tournament has determined all 16 participating teams.

When Group D of the Asian futsal qualifiers ends this morning, the last two names to participate in this tournament will be Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Iraq leads Group D of the qualifying round with 9 points after 3 wins, they enter the final round with a ticket for the group winners of the qualifying round. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is second in Group D, they enter the continental futsal final round with a ticket for one of the 7 best second-placed teams.

Saudi Arabia finished 5th in the group of 7 second-placed teams, officially pushing Myanmar (the last team in the group of second-placed teams) out of this tournament.

The 16 teams entering the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship finals include host Indonesia, Australia (first place in Group A of the qualifying round), Thailand (Group B), Japan (Group C), Iraq (D), Vietnam (E), Kyrgyzstan (F), Iran (G) and Afghanistan (H), Kuwait (second place in Group A), South Korea (second place in Group B), Uzbekistan (second place in Group F), Tajikistan (second place in Group C), Saudi Arabia (second place in Group D), Lebanon (second place in Group E) and Malaysia (second place in Group G).

The Asian Futsal Championship will take place from January 27, 2026 to February 7, 2026. The Vietnamese futsal team is in the second seed group, along with Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Meanwhile, the first seed group includes the host teams Indonesia, Iran, Japan and Thailand. The third seed group includes Kuwait, Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan. The fourth seed group includes Australia, Lebanon, South Korea and Malaysia.

With this seeding, the Vietnamese futsal team will avoid two very difficult opponents, Uzbekistan and Iraq. We may fall into an easy group at the finals.
