The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi took place at the Central Relic Site of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long (Hanoi) attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists on the weekend. The culinary area with 34 international food stalls opened from 9am to 9:30pm, full of diners enjoying the specialties.
Tourists line up to enjoy mango sticky rice - a sweet, fragrant Thai dessert.
The international food stalls at the World Culture Festival give visitors the opportunity to learn about and experience many unique dishes from each ethnic region: Galouti Kebab chicken - a dish originating from the Lucknow royal palace (India); AabGousht (Dizi) - a traditional stew (Iran); Pisco Sour - a cocktail born in Lima in the early 20th century (Peru)...
Many tourists are willing to line up and wait 3-5 minutes to enjoy dishes they are experiencing for the first time at the booths: Turkey, France, Korea... At noon, some crowded booths ran out of ingredients and had to wait for transportation and additional processing.
The Turkish stall is crowded from morning to afternoon.
Ms. Tran Bao Lan (18 years old, Hanoi ) said: “The international food stalls were crowded. My friend and I had to wait quite a while to receive the famous Turkish Kebap bread, but we were still very excited because this was an opportunity for me to explore world cuisine directly instead of just watching it online.”
Dolma - a traditional dish of Azerbaijan that creates curiosity among tourists. According to the chef, this dish is made from grape leaves or cabbage leaves, rolled with a filling of minced meat, rice and typical spices.
The French food stall attracts visitors with its variety of famous pastries, making it difficult for many visitors to move around and find a seat due to the limited number of seats. The pastries cost from 10,000 VND/piece depending on the type.
In addition to enjoying the typical dishes, visitors can also directly participate in the experience, listening to the cultural stories contained in each dish of international chefs. Many visitors lined up to watch the Indian chef demonstrate making chicken curry.
Lasting until October 12, the World Culture Festival is a unique experience space for domestic and international tourists about the cuisine and culture of Vietnam and many other countries on the weekend.
In addition to the culinary experience, the “Cultural Road” space at the festival will open a journey of multi-national discovery. Visitors can visit nearly 50 cultural spaces of China, Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, France, Iran, Angola, the Philippines... to learn about history, art, language and unique customs. In particular, visitors also have the opportunity to wear traditional costumes of Vietnam and other countries, capturing memorable moments of exchange.
The round stage will be where Vietnamese and international art troupes will perform special acts such as Central Highlands Gong, Bac Ninh Quan Ho, Cheo, Chau Van along with traditional dances and music from Japan, Russia, Cuba, Mongolia, Indonesia... International film screenings will continuously serve the audience at the Imperial Citadel Hall (9am - 9pm, October 11-12).
