Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that culture is the "red thread" connecting people, connecting countries, connecting the world ; culture has no borders.
The Prime Minister assessed that the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is an event connecting the Vietnamese people with peoples around the world, bringing joy and cultural enjoyment of peoples around the world to Vietnam and of Vietnam to peoples and countries around the world.

At the opening ceremony, Chief Representative of the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO in Vietnam Jonathan Wallace Baker affirmed that with the theme of Joining hands with people in flood-affected areas, the Festival shows that culture not only honors beauty and creativity, but is also a source of inspiration for compassion, recovery and solidarity. This festival makes its mark not only by the colors and performances, but also by the message that when culture connects, humanity will unite.
“In these difficult times, culture reminds us of our roots. It is the source of resilience, of compassion, and of our capacity to rebuild together,” said Jonathan Wallace Baker.

The opening art program of the first World Culture Festival in Hanoi was attractive and exciting, bringing together art troupes from Japan, India, Laos, Mongolia, Pakistan, and talented Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy, Oplus group, Ngoc Anh, cello artist Dinh Hoai Xuan, People's Artist Thuy Huong, Tieu Minh Phung, Mai Trang, Quach Mai Thi, An Thu An, Ram C, Besinger...

The special highlight of the program is the 3D mapping projection on Doan Mon, bringing a satisfying visual experience; recreating Vietnamese cultural symbols, heritage and landscapes in a vivid multidimensional space.
In addition to the vibrant melodies of international music, the program also dedicates space to honoring traditional Vietnamese arts, with traditional musical instruments, folk songs... Vietnamese music resounds in the heart of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, blending with the sounds of the world, expressing the spirit of integration while still imbued with national identity.
The first World Culture Festival in Hanoi is open to the public for free from October 11-12.
Within the framework of the event, there are many rich activities such as: Hanoi World Culture Festival, Hanoi International Cuisine Program, film screenings, folk dance, fine arts, international costumes, Ao Dai Festival, Hanoi International Book Festival... bringing a space of experience with global colors in the heart of the capital.
In particular, the international national costume show “Steps to Heritage” took place on the evening of October 11 with nearly 100 traditional costumes of diverse colors, materials and patterns; promising to be the richest and most spectacular international national costume show ever in Vietnam.
