Strictly handle behaviors that cause traffic accidents

On the afternoon of July 10, the Traffic Police Department (C08, Ministry of Public Security ) informed about the implementation results in the first 6 months of 2025. In addition to the above figures, the national traffic police force revoked more than 149,000 driving licenses, certificates, and professional certificates, and temporarily detained more than 424,000 vehicles of all kinds.

In particular, the traffic police force directly and in coordination with the functional forces inspected and detected more than 1,500 cases of criminal, economic and environmental violations; arrested more than 1,500 subjects (including 5 wanted subjects, 60 subjects who entered the country illegally). Also according to C08, in the past 6 months, there were 9,398 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 5,293 people and injuring 6,246 people. Also in the same 6 months, there were 28 traffic jams. The main cause was traffic accidents.

Also during the same period, the traffic police force discovered 54 cases of gathering to drive at high speed, weave in and out, and disturb public order. The authorities arrested 402 subjects. Of these, 13 cases of disturbing public order, 201 subjects were prosecuted; 41 cases, 136 subjects were administratively handled; 65 subjects under 16 years old were handed over to the local authorities and their families for management in accordance with regulations.

In the coming time, the national traffic police force will continue to implement the directions of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security in ensuring traffic order and safety and social order, and at the same time advise the Ministry of Public Security to monitor, urge, summarize and conclude the Directives of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister on the assigned work of ensuring traffic order and safety.

In the key tasks of the last 6 months of the year and the coming time, the traffic police force will promote administrative reforms in the fields of driver's license issuance, vehicle registration, license plate auctions, and issuance of licenses to use signal devices for priority vehicles.

At the same time, strengthen patrolling, controlling, guiding, checking, urging, and strictly handling violations of traffic order and safety, especially violations of the law identified as the main cause of traffic accidents, and handling violations of the law by oversized vehicles, overloaded vehicles, tracked vehicles, and vehicles transporting oversized and overweight goods on the road.
