Exporting the first batch of liquid eggs to South Korea

VnExpressVnExpress27/05/2023

For the first time, a Vietnamese enterprise has exported a batch of liquid eggs to South Korea, opening up new opportunities in the context of a sharp decline in domestic consumption.

Sharing with VnExpress , Mr. Truong Chi Thien, General Director of Vinh Thanh Dat Food Company, said that he had successfully exported a container of liquid eggs - a type of sterilized peeled eggs - to Korea. This type is often used for restaurants and eateries in Korea and Japan. This is the first shipment that creates the premise for Vietnamese eggs to be exported to the world .

According to Mr. Thien, this success is thanks to the business's efforts to promote its products over the past few months. " The economic recession, high-end hotels and restaurants are empty, causing domestic consumption to decrease sharply, so I chose to export to have a good output," Mr. Thien said.

For now, the product is new so the importer requires the model to be packaged under their brand. In the near future, the import partner can continue to expand exports to the Japanese market in large quantities.

The domestic poultry egg market is currently facing fierce competition with the participation of big names such as CP (Thailand), QL (Malaysia), CJ (Korea) and Vietnamese enterprises such as Hoa Phat , Dabaco, Ba Huan, Vinh Thanh Dat. Currently, the purchasing power in the domestic market is quite weak, so the price of poultry eggs is falling sharply.

VnExpress records show that the retail price of chicken eggs is 3,000 VND each, duck eggs are 3,300-3,500 VND, a decrease of 300-500 VND compared to the same period last year.

As for liquid eggs, there are many domestic and international brands on the market. However, the consumption of this product has been strongly affected by the economic recession.
