Kommersant newspaper said the Su-34 fighter-bomber, Su-35 fighter jet and two Mi-8 helicopters were "shot down almost simultaneously" in an ambush in the Bryansk region, which borders northeastern Ukraine.

“According to preliminary data, the planes were supposed to carry out a missile strike on targets in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region,” the newspaper said. Kommersant provided no evidence for its report, but several military bloggers have made similar claims.
Late on Saturday, Bryansk region Governor Alexander Bogomaz said a Ukrainian drone had struck a food factory in Starodub, near the Ukrainian border, damaging the roof and causing no casualties.
The incident comes two days after Mr Bogomaz reported a drone attack on an oil depot in the area. Kommersant said all crew members were killed.
Earlier this month, two explosions also derailed freight trains on consecutive days in the Bryansk region.
