Phu Loc: Arresting subjects trapping storks in the area

HNN.VN - Early in the morning at 4:00 a.m. on October 11, the functional forces of Phu Loc commune organized a campaign to arrest subjects who had been trapping storks in the fields of the area. Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, was present at the scene and directed the work.

Forces collecting traps at the scene

Accordingly, the commune police force coordinated with forest rangers and related forces to ambush and caught two subjects residing in Trung Phuoc Tuong village hunting storks in the fields of Hoa Mau and Trung Phuoc Tuong villages. The seized evidence included many stork traps, fake storks, 1 motorbike and 2 boats used by the subjects to move and carry out the act of hunting wild birds.

Immediately after arresting the subjects, the authorities collected hundreds of fake storks and stork traps scattered across the fields, in order to completely prevent the trapping of wild birds in the area.

The authorities are currently investigating and clarifying the case. Violators will be strictly handled according to the law. If they re-offend in the future, they will be considered for criminal prosecution according to current regulations.

Phu Loc Commune will continue to carry out many inspection campaigns and strictly handle violations, while strengthening propaganda and mobilizing people to join hands in protecting the environment and preserving a green, clean and beautiful rural landscape.
