Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Permanent Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee said that trade relations between An Giang and Cambodia are developing strongly. As of September 2025, the total import-export turnover between the two sides reached 940 million USD, of which 531 million USD was exported and 409 million USD was imported. Key commodities include agricultural products, seafood, rice, consumer goods, fertilizers and production materials.
An Giang identifies enterprises as the center of development cooperation. The province commits to accompany, minimize time and costs for enterprises, and create a transparent and favorable investment environment.
“We do not just want to sell products, but also want to create new values with Cambodian businesses and conquer the international market,” Mr. Phong emphasized.

The Southern economic region contributes nearly 45% of the country's export turnover, in which An Giang plays the role of the main trade gateway.
Currently, the province has 3 international border gates (Vinh Xuong, Tinh Bien, Ha Tien), 3 main border gates and 15 border markets, with synchronous infrastructure investment to facilitate the circulation of goods between Vietnam and Cambodia.
According to Mr. Tith Rithipol - Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, the Royal Government of Cambodia is strongly improving the investment environment through the implementation of the national single window system, online payment, public-private dialogue mechanism and many new laws supporting businesses.
These include the introduction of an online payment system, the use of a national single window system linked to the ASEAN single window system, an automated tax registration and tax declaration system, an online work permit application system, as well as the introduction of a public-private dialogue mechanism to address issues and concerns of the business and investment community in Cambodia. At the same time, Cambodia also promotes transparency in the business environment.
“The promotion and expansion of trade and investment between Cambodia and Vietnam is of great importance in contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of the two peoples,” said His Excellency Tith Rithipol.

Within the framework of the conference, the management agencies, associations and business communities of the two countries jointly conducted two discussion sessions to analyze promising business and investment opportunities, propose many practical solutions and effective initiatives, contributing to expanding the scale of trade, investment and service cooperation between the Southern Economic Zone of Vietnam and Cambodia in the coming period. At the same time, many typical products of the Mekong Delta and Cambodian enterprises were displayed, opening up prospects for long-term and sustainable cooperation in the future.
