Bac Ninh: Spreading the emulation movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework"

Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women; representatives of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, departments, branches, businesses and 200 female officials, union members and workers.

In his opening speech, the representative of the Provincial Labor Federation emphasized: The emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" is an activity with profound humanistic meaning, arousing the creative spirit, bravery and good qualities of Bac Ninh women in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration. Many typical collectives and individuals have risen to assert themselves, becoming beautiful flowers in the patriotic emulation flower garden of the province.

Currently, the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation manages and directly directs more than 2,200 grassroots trade unions of enterprises and public service units that do not receive 100% of their salaries from the State budget, with more than 582,000 union members; female union members and workers account for about 65%, and in the enterprise sector in industrial parks alone, the proportion of female workers accounts for 70-80%.

Regardless of position, profession, or field, female union members and workers strive to complete assigned tasks well; every year, more than 92% of female union members achieve the title "Good at public work, good at housework".

Over the past 5 years, trade unions at all levels in the province have organized more than 650,000 propaganda sessions for female workers, civil servants, and laborers about legal regulations and policies related to gender equality, health care, and building happy families.

Many innovative models such as “Reproductive Health Club”, “Your Health”, “Breastfeeding and storage room at the enterprise” have been effectively maintained, contributing to protecting the health and improving the spiritual life of female workers. Currently, more than 70% of collective labor agreements have provisions beneficial to female workers.

Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Provincial Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit of the Provincial Labor Federation to outstanding collectives in the movement "Good at public work, good at housework" for the period 2020 - 2025.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Xuan Loi praised the comprehensive results of the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" in the recent period, affirming that this is a vivid proof of the efforts, bravery and creativity of the team of female cadres, workers, civil servants and laborers of Bac Ninh.

In order to continue promoting the achieved results, bringing the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at home work" to a new level, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, he requested the Provincial Labor Federation to continue to lead and direct the strong innovation of the emulation movement content associated with the emulation movement of each level, sector and each locality in the whole province.

Strengthen propaganda and education to improve professional qualifications, vocational skills, knowledge on gender equality, and building happy and progressive families for female union members; proactively advise Party committees and coordinate with authorities to effectively and promptly resolve issues related to female workers such as working hours, insurance, maternity, preschool education, social housing for workers and cultural institutions, especially in industrial parks and clusters.

Agencies, units and enterprises regularly pay attention to and create conditions for female union officials and members to be trained, fostered, planned and appointed to leadership and management positions, to promote their capacity and strengths; and to build a friendly and equal working environment.

At the conference, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit to 50 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" for the period 2020 - 2025; awarded Certificates to 50 enterprises with many activities to care for workers.

On this occasion, female union members and workers were informed about reproductive health care, contributing to improving population quality in the new situation.
