Bao Phuong Vinh won the 'Vietnam Billiards World Cup' for the first time

After many exciting matches, Bao Phuong Vinh finally won the Billiards HBSF Tour 3 MIN Table Cup 2025 tournament organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards and Snooker Federation (HBSF).

In the final match of the men's 3-cushion carom event on the afternoon of October 4, Bao Phuong Vinh defeated Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu to win the championship. This was a match in which the former world champion started well with two series of 7 points to lead 28-20 after the first half.

Despite being under a lot of pressure from Thanh Tu's pursuit, Phuong Vinh still maintained the advantage to win 50-42 after 34 innings.

Previously in the semi-finals, Bao Phuong Vinh made an emotional comeback, winning 50-49 against Nguyen Nhat Hoa despite being behind 43-49. Nhat Hoa was also the player who eliminated Tran Quyet Chien in the quarter-finals.

This is the first time Bao Phuong Vinh has won the prestigious HBSF Tour and received a prize of 50 million VND.

In the same match, veteran player Lim Leng dominated the game, leading 6-2 after the first set before winning 11-8 against Ngo Hong Thang to win the men's 9-ball pool championship. Lim Leng is the coach of the Ho Chi Minh City pool team but has won the national championship twice.

The women's 3-cushion carom championship belonged to Nguyen Duc Yen Sinh with a 30-12 victory after 24 rounds against Luong Thi Thom. Meanwhile, Bui Xuan Vang won overwhelmingly 7-3 against Le Hong Nhung to win the women's 9-cushion pool championship.

The 2025 HBSF Tour 3 MIN Table Cup billiards tournament takes place from September 29 to October 4 at the Sports Service Center (215C Ly Thuong Kiet, Phu Tho Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The tournament brings together more than 300 players competing in 4 categories including men's 9-ball pool, women's 9-ball pool, men's 3-cushion carom and women's 3-cushion carom.

HBSF Tour is a tournament organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), dubbed the "World Cup of Vietnamese Billiards". The tournament impressed with its professionalism, gathering the best male and female players in Vietnam in both 3-cushion carom and pool along with a number of international guests.

HBSF Tour 3 is also the last leg of the year for players to seek the last spots to participate in the HBSF final tour at the end of the year held in December, in addition to practicing for some important upcoming tournaments such as the World Cup or World Championship.

Besides, this is an opportunity for Vietnam's top 3-cushion carom players to practice before the World Cup taking place in Belgium from October 6 to 12.
