Commenting on the match with the Philippines, Siam Sport newspaper emphasized: "Suphanat Mueanta was sick and not in the best condition before the match with the Philippines. Therefore, this player was placed on the bench.

However, the Thai football prodigy later became a hero. After coming off the bench in extra time, Suphanat scored the winning goal to seal a 3-1 victory for Thailand. With a 4-3 victory over the Philippines after two matches, the "War Elephants" will face the Vietnamese team in the final match.

In the report, Siam Sport did not mention the controversial incident when Seksan Ratree appeared to receive the ball outside the field, before passing the ball to Peeradon Chamratsamee to score the opening goal.

Similarly, many other Thai newspapers did not mention this controversial situation. The Daily News commented: "The Thai team has a great opportunity to become the first team to win the AFF Cup three times in a row. The "War Elephants" will face the Vietnamese team in the final match. In the AFF Cup 2022, Thailand defeated this opponent with a total score of 3-2 to win the championship."

Chalermsak Akkee said: "We are not afraid of the Vietnamese team. On the contrary, you need to ask if coach Kim Sang Sik's team is afraid of us or not? I am sure Jonathan Khemdee is much stronger than Nguyen Xuan Son."

Matichon newspaper admitted that Thailand was at a disadvantage compared to the Vietnamese team. They affirmed that the "War Elephants" were exhausted after 120 minutes against the Philippines and had less time to rest. Not only that, coach Masatada Ishii and his team also had to rush to Vietnam to prepare for the first leg of the final.

The first leg between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025 at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ). The rematch between the two teams will take place at Rajamangala Stadium on January 5.
