Ms. Van Thi Huu Tam, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company No. 1 (the unit that operates and manages the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line) confirmed to VietNamNet reporter that the incident occurred in the area near Thu Duc station.

Ms. Tam said that the male driver of the technology car was smoking near the Thu Duc train station. At that time, the security guard was concerned that the cigarette butt might cause a fire, so he came to warn him.

“If you just look at the image in the clip, you will see that the security guard was very aggressive. However, in reality, the technology car driver reacted before being warned by the security guard. Therefore, both of them had the bad image above,” Ms. Tam informed.

According to Ms. Tam, currently Ho Chi Minh City is in the dry season, many places have had fires caused by cigarette butts. Therefore, smoking near metro stations is also very dangerous.

Currently, the security department has temporarily suspended the male guard who got into a scuffle with the tech-car driver. At the same time, all parties are cooperating and coordinating with local police to handle the incident.
