[Photo] Bustling Mid-Autumn Festival at the Museum of Ethnology
On the morning of October 4, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology held the opening ceremony of the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival program with the theme "Fun with Children" and the "Colors of Autumn" installation art space. Coming to the program, children and their families have the opportunity to experience the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival space through familiar toys.

In the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival space with familiar toys such as: paper lanterns, star lanterns, paper doctors, clay figurines, papier-mâché masks, clay figurines, dough animals,... children not only get to admire but also have the opportunity to learn how to make toys under the direct guidance of artisans.
Children also practice STEM activities to explore science through making lanterns, ships and digital technology experiences such as virtual reality (VR), Mid-Autumn treasure hunting games through artifacts in the Museum. This is an opportunity for children to play and learn, connecting the joy of discovery with folk cultural values and scientific knowledge. The program takes place from October 4 to November 4, 2025.
The bustling lion dance created a jubilant atmosphere at the Museum of Ethnology. Children enjoy watching lion dance performances. Artisan Phung Dinh Giap ( Bac Ninh ), the last artisan still making clay statues, introduces his products to visitors.
Artisan Nguyen Thi Tuyet, with over 50 years of experience in making star lanterns, the Paper Doctor, the Stick Maker... shares with visitors her dedicated products. In the art installation space "Autumn Colors" taking place from October 4 to November 4, artisans will display traditional products that preserve the soul of Vietnamese culture. The "moon-viewing feast" is an offering to the gods and ancestors, conveying good wishes, especially for children. The feast is displayed with not only fruits and cakes but also children's toys. Children learn about the history and culture of the "moon-watching feast".
The traditional paper Doctor is given a contemporary soul with AI support, communicating and sharing traditional culture, attracting children. The virtual reality interactive treasure hunting game for the Mid-Autumn Festival makes children excited to participate. Physical games like rolling grapefruit help children get physical activity. Not only Vietnamese children, foreign tourists also enjoy the stilt game. Children are guided and experience making moon cakes.
Dong Ngu Water Puppet Troupe offers many performances during this occasion.
