Quang Ninh mobilizes more than 4,000 soldiers to respond to storm No. 11

On the morning of October 5, facing the complicated and dangerous developments of storm No. 11 (storm Matmo), Quang Ninh province deployed many urgent measures to respond and limit damage.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested relevant units to temporarily stop issuing permits for boats to go to sea, and stop all sightseeing and accommodation activities at sea from 8:00 a.m. on the same day. Coastal localities are required to create conditions for boats to return to safe shelters and complete anchoring before 12:00 p.m. on October 5.

The local military has mobilized more than 4,000 officers and soldiers to participate in storm prevention work, with equipment, supplies, vehicles and communications ready. In addition, more than 13,000 people in communes, wards and special zones have also been mobilized to support the locality.

The province has notified and guided fishing vessels to safe anchorage. Aquaculture facilities urgently reinforced cages and rafts, and evacuated people to shore before 12 noon today. Along with that, the evacuation of people in areas at risk of flooding, landslides, camps, temporary structures... is also being vigorously implemented, striving to be completed before 16:00 the same day.

Quang Ninh aims to prevent human casualties and minimize property damage when the storm makes landfall.
