Closing ceremony of the Good Ship Competition and the 2024 Standing Militia Fleet Ship Training Sports Festival

On the afternoon of November 25, in Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province, the Navy coordinated with Military Regions 4, 5, 7, and 9 to organize the closing ceremony of the Good Ship Competition and the Training Sports Festival for Standing Militia Squadron Ships (Competition and Sports Festival) in 2024.

Taking place from November 11 in 4 regions: Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Kien Giang , the competition and sports event were successful, ensuring safety in all aspects. This is the first time the Navy has been assigned by the Ministry of National Defense to organize a good ship competition and a training competition for permanent militia ships, so the Organizing Committee and the Navy agencies have made efforts and coordinated well with local agencies and units to research, build and perfect the regulations. The Jury has actively and proactively built tight competition documents, in accordance with regulations, close to the actual situation, training mission requirements, and combat readiness.

Preparations for the competition and sports festival were carried out closely and according to plan. The participating units were united and humble in learning. The militia officers and soldiers on duty on the ships took advantage of their time to review their knowledge and practice their operations; focused on preserving, painting, repairing, and maintaining the uniformity and quality of the technical equipment and weapons on the ships.

The results of the competition and sports festival achieved the objectives and requirements in terms of form, organization, methods and content in both depth and breadth. Through the competition and sports festival, it contributed to improving the combat readiness, the ability to operate and master technical equipment and independently go to sea of ​​the regular militia force, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

Overall results: 100% of participating ships achieved Fair and Excellent (63% achieved Excellent); 100% of ships achieved Fair and Excellent in the ship training competition (57.8% achieved Excellent). Ships belonging to the Standing Militia Fleet, Da Nang City Military Command won first prize; Ships belonging to the Standing Militia Fleet, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Commands won second prize; Ships belonging to the Standing Militia Fleet, Quang Ngai, Kien Giang and Quang Tri Provincial Military Commands won third prize.

In his closing speech, Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung commended and congratulated the comrades in the Organizing Committee, the Jury and the officers and soldiers of the permanent militia ships for completing their tasks well and achieving high results in the competition and sports festival.

The Deputy Commander of the Navy requested the Party Committees and commanders of agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the resolutions of the superiors on "Improving the quality of training in the period of 2023-2030 and the following years; focusing on improving the comprehensive leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization in each task; paying attention to the material and spiritual life and focusing on educating officers and soldiers of the standing militia squadron to have a strong political stance, high determination, good technical and tactical skills, good professional skills, and creative thinking ability in performing tasks; promoting initiatives and improving technical applications in the exploitation, preservation and maintenance of technical equipment, striving for each ship to become a good ship, a regular, model ship.

Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung and Major General Nguyen Van Dong presented awards from the General Staff to the winning teams in the sports competition.

Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung also reminded the Party committees and commanders of the organizing units to draw experience, develop plans to overcome shortcomings and limitations in competitions and sports events; review and synthesize the contents that are still inadequate and inconsistent in technical assurance work, implementation of combat deployment tables, ship orders... and propose to the competent agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to edit, supplement, and perfect the unified implementation in the entire force.

On this occasion, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army awarded 38 collectives and 31 individuals with outstanding achievements in participating in the competition and serving and ensuring the competition and sports festival.
