East Sea likely to have storm number 12, provinces from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong immediately notify ships

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 7 p.m. tonight, October 17, the center of the tropical depression is in the sea east of the central Philippines. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 7 (50 - 61 km/h), gusting to level 9.

The meteorological agency said this tropical depression will strengthen into a storm and enter the East Sea in the evening of October 19.

This is likely to be the 12th storm in the East Sea this year.

After entering the East Sea, the storm is likely to interact with cold air, so the intensity and direction of the storm may change.

Specifically, it is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move west at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h and is likely to strengthen into a storm.

By 7pm tomorrow night, the storm center will be in the central coastal area of ​​the Philippines, with storm intensity at level 8, gusting to level 10.

During the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm will move west-northwest, sweep across the central Philippines and then enter the East Sea.

At 7:00 p.m. on October 19, the storm center was in the sea east of the Philippines, with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 8 (62 - 74 km/h), gusting to level 10.

From the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move mainly in the west-northwest direction, 20-25km per hour, with the possibility of strengthening.

After entering the East Sea, the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of about 20-25km/h and is likely to strengthen.

In the immediate future, due to the influence of a tropical depression, possibly a storm, from October 19, the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, near the storm center, level 8, gusting to level 10, waves 2.5 - 4.5m high. Rough seas.

Between October 20 and 22, the northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 9-11, gusting to level 14.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

To proactively respond to the tropical depression near the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a storm, on October 17, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense requested provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the tropical depression.

Notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property.

At the same time, maintain communication and prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation.
