Every country has a unique culinary atmosphere, reflecting its own culture with culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations. And enjoying local cuisine can help visitors discover many things about the destination.
American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler has selected the destinations that really tantalize travelers' taste buds. The score is a percentage that represents the average overall satisfaction level of the selection.

Vietnam scored 96.67, ranking 4th in the list of the world's top 15 cuisines.
"We've all seen the golden rice fields of Vietnam, so it's no surprise that the ingredients here are some of the freshest in the region," writes US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller. "Rice comes in all shapes and sizes - steaming bowls, delicate noodles, spring rolls - but is always topped with local vegetables, tender meats and aromatic herbs. Any backpacker will love the street food, from Cai Rang floating market to tiny alleyways like Xom Chieu, which serve up the best of Vietnamese cuisine at rock-bottom prices. But if you're after something more sophisticated, head to Ciel Dining in Ho Chi Minh City, one of the best new restaurants on our 2025 hot list."
Japan with a score of 96.77, ranked above Vietnamese cuisine. With 96.92 points, Italian cuisine ranked second. Thailand surprised with 98.33 points, ranked first.
"Thailand's regional culinary diversity means that each new destination offers visitors new flavours; vibrant night markets mean that the food tasting never stops. Thailand has mastered the art of delivering delicious food without fuss, and whether you're a fan of Thai food or not, the piping hot bowls of noodles, curries and soups are sure to win you over, especially when served by friendly locals," the newspaper raved.
The remaining cuisines in the list of top cuisines in the world are Turkish, French, Moroccan, Colombian, Maldives, Peruvian, South African, Greek, Sri Lankan, New Zealand, Spanish.

Previously, the world-famous culinary website Taste Atlas announced the list of the 100 best dishes in the world in 2024. Notably, the only representative of Vietnam on the list is beef pho. The dish ranked 93rd on the list with 4.44 stars.
