During a field survey at the Quarry in 7-8, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh requested the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to soon coordinate with the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee to implement a mechanism for returning land after bauxite mining. This will be the basis for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to submit to the National Assembly for consideration in the coming time.
Specifically, for the 130ha area that TKV is completing procedures to return to the locality after bauxite mining, the Minister requested the Vietnam Minerals Department to coordinate with relevant units to speed up the return procedures next week. After the mine is restored, the land will be handed over to the locality to continue socio -economic development and keep the agricultural land and forest land intact.
For the exploited areas in the coming period, we will study and develop a mechanism to return the land to the people when they need to use it. During the exploitation process, we will support the people with the affected property. Land ownership rights will remain intact.
Regarding the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh emphasized that if necessary, there will be adjustments so that when the Group completes the procedures to close the mine, it will hand it over to the locality, and from there, there will be land for the people to produce and develop the socio-economy better.
Inspecting production items, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh requested Dak Nong Aluminum Company to seriously implement safe production measures and ensure strict environmental protection. Minister Dang Quoc Khanh assigned the Department of Environmental Pollution Control to regularly monitor and inspect environmental protection activities at the company.
