Coast Guard Region 4 Command promptly supports fishermen in distress at sea

The Command of Coast Guard Region 4 said that at around 12:30 on September 26, while performing patrol, inspection, control and prevention of IUU fishing at sea, Ship CSB 4035, Squadron 422, Squadron 42, Command of Coast Guard Region 4 received a request for emergency medical assistance from Mr. Dang Quoc Bao, captain of fishing boat KG 94861 TS (permanent residence in Tay Yen commune, An Giang province).

According to the report of Captain Dang Quoc Bao, crew member Danh Sang, born in 2005, residing in Hon Dat commune, An Giang province, while working on a fishing boat, had a fingertip severed by a fan blade and needed medical assistance.

Immediately after receiving the information, CSB 4035 ship maneuvered to approach fishing boat KG 94861 TS, transferred the injured crew member to the coast guard ship, and organized initial first aid steps. Through examination by the medical team, it was determined that: The crew member had a severed joint of his little finger, could not stop the bleeding, and was at high risk of infection.

The medical team stopped the bleeding, bandaged the victim, and administered painkillers and antibiotics. After receiving medical assistance, the victim regained consciousness and the wound stopped bleeding. At 1:30 p.m. the same day, the injured crew member was taken by officers and soldiers of CSB 4035 to fishing boat KG 94861 TS to be brought ashore for further monitoring and treatment.

The medical support of Ship CSB 4035 was organized quickly, accurately and effectively, in complex stormy conditions, continuing to affirm that the Vietnam Coast Guard is always a solid support, accompanying fishermen to go out to sea.
