In this film, Ethan's past before the intelligence organization Impossible Mission Force (IMF) is revealed for the first time after nearly 30 years of operation.

The film premiered in Vietnam on July 8, four days earlier than its global release date. According to Box Office Vietnam, the film topped the box office with a revenue of more than VND10.3 billion after just one day of release.

During the premiere in Rome (Italy) at the end of June, the audience predicted that the film would become a blockbuster this year.

The Hollywood Reporter predicts the film will gross around $90 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. It is expected to break the record set by the sixth installment, “Mission: Impossible Fallout” (2018), which grossed $61.2 million.

According to Variety, “Mission: Impossible” 7 cost $290 million to produce, tens of millions of dollars higher than the original estimate.

This figure is more than 1.5 times higher than the previous film (190 million USD), nearly one-third of the total budget of the 7 films.

Therefore, the film must earn at least 800 million USD to break even and 1.3 billion USD (4 times the production budget) to reach the average revenue of the previous 6 films, to be able to enter the top 20 highest-grossing films of all time.

With 42 reviews from critics, the film review site Metacritic compiled and awarded "Mission: Impossible" 7 points of 81, along with the "Must-See" sticker (recognizing movies that deserve to be enjoyed).

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film scored 99% with a “Fresh Tomato” certification for excellent films. This is also the highest rating in the film career of actor Tom Cruise.

ScreenRant is not shy about declaring this the best film in the entire series.
