This meeting place is Yours Coffee ( Kon Tum , Quang Ngai province) - a coffee shop famous for its "book wall" of more than 7,500 books. Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Ha - the shop owner - said that the idea of the "book wall" came after her trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

"During that trip, I saw cafes with large, beautiful bookshelves that brought a relaxing and inspiring feeling. I suddenly thought, why not bring such a space to my hometown, so that young people here also have places to relax and check-in," she shared.

Thinking is doing, Ms. Ha started to build shelves in her own shop. To have the massive bookshelf like today, Ms. Ha spent many years collecting. More than half of the books in the shop were bought by her from used bookstores, some were books left by her family and some were books she collected since she was a child.

For Ms. Ha, books are soul mates. The books at the shop are carefully selected by her, both in terms of content value and appropriateness for display. In addition to books from her personal collection, she also receives books from friends and regular customers.

The shop has more than 7,500 books (Photo: Thu Ha).

Among those books, Ms. Ha especially treasures works such as: The Waste Land by Mikhail Sholokhov, The Rise and Fall of a Courtesan by French writer Honoré de Balzac or Everyday Stories in the District by Valentin Ovechkin. Besides, there are also classic children's books such as: Harry Potter, The Beast ...

To complete the tall and wide bookshelf system, Ms. Ha invested a lot of effort and money. Wishing to build a real "treasure trove of knowledge", she paid special attention to sturdiness, aesthetics and long-term storage capacity.

The construction process lasted for many months, from designing, building the frame to arranging and classifying each book. After completing the shelves, preserving the books so they would not be damaged also became a big challenge for her.

To preserve a large number of books, the shelf area is designed with a separate roof, ensuring ventilation and avoiding direct sunlight and rain. Books are cleaned and checked regularly to avoid mold and termites.

Ms. Ha shared that, as soon as it was completed, the "book wall" immediately became the highlight of the shop. Many people were surprised because they did not think that in the countryside there would be a coffee shop with such a magnificent bookshelf.

"There are some lovely moments, like a baby reading a comic book and forgetting about time or an elderly person flipping through old books to reminisce. At those times, I feel like all the effort I put in was worth it," she said.

She added that most customers come to the shop to read books on the spot, but if someone really likes a book, she is willing to lend it to them to read, as long as the borrower is conscious of taking care of it.

Many people often bring their children to the cafe to both relax and practice reading habits (Photo: Thu Ha).

The shop space is designed to be friendly, with a quiet reading corner, a children's play area and a diverse drink menu, from coffee, smoothies, juices to fruit tea, with prices ranging from 18,000 VND to 40,000 VND.

Many people shared that they were impressed with the spacious space and the careful investment in the decoration of the restaurant, and also said that the restaurant is suitable for large family groups of diverse ages.

Regarding drinks, customers have given many compliments to the unique pomegranate juice, which has a refreshing sweet and sour taste. However, some comments also said that when the restaurant is crowded, the process of serving drinks takes quite a long time.

In the near future, Ms. Ha plans to add English books, life skills books and children's stories to the shelves to serve a variety of readers. What she wants most is to turn the "book wall" into a place of inspiration, helping many people - especially young people - find a love of reading.
