The traditional festival commemorating the 157th anniversary of the death of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc (1868-2025) took place from October 17 to 19 in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province, attracting millions of visitors from all over the country.

From the evening of October 17, tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country were present at all intersections from Nguyen Trung Truc Park to the tomb and communal house of Hero Nguyen Trung Truc in Rach Gia ward to join the festival atmosphere with local people before the opening ceremony.

On the evening of October 17, people from everywhere flocked to Rach Gia ward to immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere.

On the morning of October 18, the flow of people coming to participate in the festival and offer incense at the temple of Hero Nguyen Trung Truc increased. The festive atmosphere covered all the streets in the most populous ward in the country. The intersections leading to the temple were packed with people, and the headquarters of state agencies were also used to serve the festival.

On this occasion, the organizing committee arranged 6 rice camps, 2 pancake camps, 2 tofu camps and free accommodation for guests from afar. Local people and businesses contributed hundreds of tons of rice, nearly 10 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of sticky rice, 8 tons of soybeans, 5,000 bottles of soy sauce, 4,000 liters of cooking oil... and many other necessities to serve the festival.

In addition, there are more than 3,000 volunteers participating in cooking, cleaning, and giving out free medicine...

Nguyen Trung Truc communal house festival is a traditional festival recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2023.

According to the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province, this year the locality expects to welcome more than 1 million visitors to pay homage and burn incense in memory of Hero Nguyen Trung Truc.
