One touch to smart digital museum
Just go to baotangtinh.ninhbinh.gov.vn, heritage lovers can immediately start a tour without time and geographical limitations. The virtual reality tour feature (VR Tour 360) allows visitors from all over to admire the entire space and artifacts of the Museum vividly.

This system not only introduces the Museum but also integrates and intelligently connects with other important historical sites in Ninh Binh province such as King Dinh Tien Hoang Temple, King Le Dai Hanh Temple, Say Temple, Saint Nguyen Temple, Non Nuoc Mountain... helping visitors to explore Ninh Binh's heritage seamlessly.
To enrich the online experience, the Museum has digitized and introduced many typical artifacts. Thanks to that, visitors can easily rotate, flip and explore the artifacts with full specifications of color, size and history right on the screen of their device...

Mr. Do Van Hien said that in recent times, Ninh Binh Provincial Museum has proactively consulted and synchronously implemented many tasks related to data and digitization, laying the foundation for comprehensive digital transformation. Accordingly, the Museum has converted records related to relic sites (from provincial level to special national level) and national treasures from paper to digital format. The goal is to create shared data that can be widely shared. To date, the digitization of records has been about 50% completed, creating a solid foundation for managing and accessing heritage information.
Regarding the artifact collections, from 2020 to present, Ninh Binh Provincial Museum (merged with Nam Dinh and Ha Nam Provincial Museums) has digitized about 10,000 artifacts. More importantly, the Museum has applied specialized software to enter data, completely replacing manual recording. Through the software, detailed information about artifacts such as preservation status, value, collection address and photo documents are fully updated, helping the management and retrieval of artifacts information become quick and accurate.

To optimize the display and promote the value, the Museum has applied advanced technologies. Many typical artifacts, especially national treasures, have been digitized in 3D and integrated with QR codes. When visiting the exhibition, visitors only need to scan the QR code with their smartphones to access all information related to the artifacts.
Spread and promote heritage values
Digital transformation has helped museum and heritage activities in Ninh Binh to have great changes. The recent results of digital transformation are also an important premise for Ninh Binh Provincial Museum to become more modern and catch up with the trend of industry 4.0.
In particular, according to Mr. Do Van Hien, digitalization helps preserve and promote artifacts better, minimizing the situation of precious artifacts being threatened by time and environmental factors. Creating digital copies also helps to permanently preserve information and images, which is the basis for restoring artifacts when necessary...

However, the digital transformation process at Ninh Binh Provincial Museum still faces a number of challenges, such as: lack of specialized IT human resources, limited funding and IT infrastructure...
In the future, Mr. Do Van Hien said, digital transformation at Ninh Binh Provincial Museum aims to complete a virtual museum, serving visitors who cannot come directly, and apply automatic explanation technology through QR codes or applications, helping museum visitors easily explore heritage. Thereby, helping to better perform museum operations such as conservation, display, exhibition, research and collection, contributing to the spread of heritage and the overall development of the cultural sector in Ninh Binh province.
