Crocodile escaped from cage and attacked a young man, causing injury.

On the afternoon of October 9, the leader of Dien Lam Commune Police (Khanh Hoa Province) said that a young man had just been attacked by a crocodile while fishing, injuring him and requiring him to be taken to a medical facility for treatment. Initial investigation showed that a local eco-tourism site had released a crocodile into the Cho River.

Previously, on the morning of October 8, Mr. Ha Kim Quang (born in 2003, residing in Ba Dui village, Bac Khanh Vinh commune) went to the Cho river area near Suoi Sau B bridge, Xuan Trung village, Dien Lam commune to fish. While fishing, the hook got caught on a tree branch in the river. When Mr. Quang waded into the water to remove the hook, he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile weighing about 10kg in the right arm and left leg. After struggling for a while, Mr. Quang was lucky to escape, climbed ashore and was taken to Khanh Binh Medical Station for first aid. Currently, Mr. Quang's health condition is stable, but the incident has caused panic among local people.

Immediately after receiving the information, the authorities of Dien Lam commune urgently directed the functional forces to deploy a plan to capture the crocodile. However, this work encountered many difficulties because in recent days, the upstream of Cho River had heavy rains, causing the river water to become turbid and rise, hindering the detection and capture of the dangerous animal. To ensure safety, the functional forces issued a warning to people in the area, requesting them to limit access to the Cho River area, especially fishing, bathing or grazing livestock near the river until the situation is under control.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the responsibility of the eco -tourism site related to the crocodile escape, while strengthening measures to ensure public safety. People are advised to be vigilant and comply with announcements from local authorities.
