Singer Tung Duong gives the audience "goosebumps" with the MV Phoenix Wings

"At the age of U50, I will make music for the community"

The MV "Phoenix Wings" was released to the press, artists and audiences at the cinema on June 17, impressively demonstrating the avant-garde spirit he has pursued and always preserved since the beginning of his singing career.

The song "Phoenix Wings" was composed by singer-songwriter Mars Anh Tú (Tu Dua). The song opens with symbolic lyrics, with the image of a beautiful woman, walking leisurely in life, with a hidden spiritual strength to overcome all storms.

But a spectacular "twist" took place when rapper Double 2T appeared with a rap telling a story originating from the Vietnamese legend with Mother Au Co; going through many historical ups and downs with examples of heroic and indomitable female generals, heroic Vietnamese mothers "bearing all the pain for the Fatherland... Vietnamese women are the land, the country, the immense field of motherly love, to the women in today's modern society "beautiful for themselves and beautiful for life".

Musician Mars Anh Tu (Tu Dua) revealed that he composed this song 3 years ago.

''Before, I often wrote about love and friendship, but then I thought I needed to write more about social topics. Around me, there are many admirable women, they are not only good at housework but also successful in their careers. "Phoenix Wings" was born because I wanted to pay tribute to women.

When I wrote this song, I had Tung Duong's voice in mind, but with my personality, I don't like to ask for help from other singers. I just thought that if fate allows, one day the song will come to Tung Duong, then it will be suitable. Until one day, Tung Duong and I appeared at a party together, Tung Duong asked me, "Can you write a song for me?"

At that time, I was very surprised and asked again, "I thought singing music was difficult for me?". Tung Duong smiled and said, "I've changed my thinking now," because Duong wants to target young, modern audiences.

Tung Duong also shared, "When I was young, I made music for myself, and at the age of U50, I will make music for the community."

Tung Duong flew to Saigon to record the song with me because he wanted to work with the author to express the composer's breath and wishes.

Along with that is the extremely serious effort of Tung Duong's entire team. I am very satisfied with Tung Duong's performance of the song "Canh chim Phuong Hoang". Up to now, I still say that this song must be performed by Tung Duong. Hopefully the song will spread because Tung Duong is very dedicated and invested.

"Phoenix" is a symbol of Vietnamese women.

Singer Tung Duong revealed that he had invited 5 famous women with talent and beautiful images in the hearts of the public, namely People's Artist Le Khanh, People's Artist Thanh Lam, Meritorious Artist - Dancer Linh Nga, Miss Ha Kieu Anh and Wushu athlete Thuy Hien to appear in this MV. Each person is like a phoenix, beautiful and proud with extraordinary efforts to succeed.

With profound lyrics carefully written by musician Mars Anh Tu (Tu Dua), evoking national pride, pride in Vietnamese women, singer Tung Duong and his colleagues have created a MV that is different in both scale of production and visual effects and emotions.

This is a song that fits our criteria, strong enough to highlight the power in Tung Duong's voice, but still not difficult to listen to for the general audience. I use many instruments and strong sounds to create energy in the song such as Drums Epic, Guitar Distortion...''.

Tung Duong expressed his joy at having the opportunity to invite Nguyen Truong Kien, CEO/Founder of Zodiac II Media, to perform all the special effects for this MV.

According to the male singer, to make this MV, director Nguyen Truong Kien (Zodiac II) and director Nguyen Huu Hoang had to seek inspiration from cultural and historical materials of Vietnam through many periods and then select the most symbolic images to bring them into the world of "fantastical Vietnam" in the MV.

Notably, director Nguyen Truong Kien also took on the position of Creative Director and VFX Supervisor of the entire project as he is also one of the influential people in the Vietnamese VFX industry.

Nguyen Truong Kien said: "I want to bring a completely new top-notch visual experience to Vietnamese MVs, especially for MV genres that use a lot of VFX/CGI techniques when most people still think that we Vietnamese cannot do well."

In addition, the special effects team also gathered many famous talents in the graphics industry. The MV production crew said that with 8 scenes, 114 shots with 100% advanced special effects, of which 95% of the shots were shot on green screen.

The most important and impressive visual part is probably the Phoenix bird, created by Duy Nguyen, currently the Art Director of Riot Games (famous for the hit games League of Legends, Valorant...) working in Singapore.

He is also the one who shaped the visual details of the 8 worlds in the MV and it took 5 months to complete the post-production with many special things appearing for the first time in a music video in Vietnam.

It can be seen that the space of this MV combines legendary elements with images typical of Vietnamese history and culture, such as bronze drums, phoenix images inspired by Lac birds, images of female heroes in Vietnamese history...

There, the image of Vietnamese women is honored. And through that, the quintessence of Vietnamese culture and history is expressed delicately with great pride.

The MV will be an important "push" for Tung Duong to continue carrying out major music projects including the album "Multiverse" and his own live show on November 22 this year.
